Key performance areas include:


•  Capturing receipts and payments, general ledger journals and month end procedures for National Office •       Preparation of accurate balance sheet reconciliations
•   Preparation of Provincial Office monthly pack
•   Co-ordination and management of procurement in line with Society Procedures
•   Processing & reconciling invoices
•   Effect payments
•   Reconciliation of cash books monthly
•   Maintain and balance petty cash
•   Maintaining fixed asset register
•   Assist in the control of printing & stationery
•   Maintain and control creditors
•   Preparation of audit files
•   Ensure accurate and up-to-date filing for easy access
•   carry out other duties as instructed by the Provincial Manager
•   Consolidation of management reports from Branches for National Office
•   Drafting of Financial Reports for National Office
•   Drafting of provincial budgets

Prerequisites for the position:

•   Diploma in Accounting or related field
•   Sound practical experience at bookkeeper level
•   Strong Computer literacy in Pastel/Navision, Windows, Spreadsheets and PowerPoint
•   Able to work efficiently under tight deadlines with competing demands
•   High degree of integrity, discretion and personal conduct
•   flexible, adaptable, good interpersonal skills, self motivated with good judgement and initiative
•   driver's licence and previous experience working for a humanitarian organisation would be advantageous

PROGRAMMES MANAGER

NATIONAL OFFICE

Three year contract
Pretoria based

Key performance areas include:

Overall management and coordination of all Red Cross programs across all provinces

•   Maintain high standards of administrative and financial management of programs in the national and provincial     offices
•   Ensure that the programs’ current and future resource requirements nationally and in all provinces are identified     and proactively met, in order to achieve the objectives of the annual and five year plans
•  
Coordinate the recruitment and development of an active, motivated and competent volunteer membership and     youth, to ensure volunteers are adequately prepared for defined needs and activities nationally and in all provinces •  Ensure that every available opportunity is used to promote, disseminate and market the Red Cross principles and     activities throughout all provinces, to targeted stakeholders in government, business and the general public
•   Coordination of all programmes in line with SARCS principles and standards, including Health & Care, Youth for     Development, Disaster Management, Humanitarian Diplomacy, ensuring that they are effectively directed, guided     and implemented throughout all provinces
•  
Compiling management and donor reports
•   Drafting of Programme budgets

Prerequisites for the position:

Three year degree in Social Sciences, Health or equivalent qualification with relevant experience in managing programmes for health, youth development, Disaster Management and Humanitarian Diplomacy.
